Beginner, majority of my shots are interior with extreme variations in light. Some external shots and evening or twilight shots.

Which camera do you recommend for Bryan-Todd?

Sony A77 - $998
24 MP|APS-C CMOS|3" LCD
Nikon D7000 - $897
16.1 MP|APS-C CMOS|3" LCD

Most important parameter in shooting scenarios with extreme variation in light is dynamic range of camera, thats why I think you should definitely go with D7000.

Both are really great, you have to decide what is most important for you. If battery time is important then one point goes to Nikon, ect.

Either way, go to a store where you can test both of them!

The Nikon D7000 has better image quality at high ISO which you'll need for lowlight and natural light photos.
