i am a beginner enthusiast and have been learning photography on nikon p7000 for almost a year. now i want to get a DSLR which will take my shoots to the next level and also last for a long time

Which camera do you recommend for Faizaan-Ahmad?

    He is willing to learn,might outgrow the D3100 then wishing he would have invested in the D7000. JJ

      He should just invest in a Pentax K-30. Half the cost of a D7000

    It really depends on what you mean by take it to the next level. You should decide what you want to shoot what you want the outcome to be and what you need to do that. You could buy the D4 for $6000 and have all the possibilities available and still not be able to produce what you're looking for. Jaime is right Bout the D7000 being more capable. What lenses do you need? Would money better be spent for studio strobes or maybe a macro lens?
