Great image quality, 14-150 lens can do it all in one lens for travel, not to small but very compact and easy to use for a person moving up from a point and shoot, still plenty of tricks in the menu for the adventurous. And you can body and lens for around $500 so very good price.
Which camera do you recommend for Emily-Bahne?

I am not sure I would recommend either of these, the E-PL1 is to old in my opinion, I would look at the updated version the E-PM1: http://snapsort.com/cameras/Olympus-E-PM1
If I had to pick one of these it would be the E-P3.-
Beginner I7 months ago singleshotI am also an "expert" with over 35 years in the field but the person asking for a recommendation is not. We as experts want complete control but in a beginners hands with price as a concern you can not do much better than the e-pl1. I know because this is what i carry when backpacking.
