I am a beginner with love for good photography.  Looking to take memory pictures and wow my friends of the beauty of the places, wildlife I've seen.  I don't want to worry about a fragile camera while on the sandy beach, trying to swim with dolphins, zip lining trying to capture a wildlife fast. But, I also want those pictures of smiling faces of family while with clear skin while having dinner and panoramic shots of beautiful locations.  Also, I wish it were small.  And video seems more important now as I look at the cameras.  Ease of use is of high importance because technology is a foreign language to me.  Am I asking too much? Is there such an animal?

Which camera do you recommend for Maggie-Chen?

Olympus TG-820 - $173
11.8 MP|5x f/3.9|1/2.5" CMOS|3" LCD
Panasonic TS4 - $260
12 MP|4.6x f/3.3|1/2.5" CCD|2.7" LCD

I own an older version of the Olympus TG-820 and love it, I have even taken a photo with it that won me an award. You won't have any issues with video on this camera, and as long as you take care of it you should not break it. I found the camera easy to use, with lots of auto modes based on what photos I wanted to take.
