I want something light weight, but good for macro work and scenic photos

Which camera do you recommend for Barry-Smith?

Canon S100 - $325
12 MP|5x f/2.0|1/1.8" CMOS|3" LCD
Panasonic DMC-LX5 - $299
10 MP|3.8x f/2.0|1/1.6" CCD|3" LCD

I own both and, while the LX5 is better, both are quite bad for any macro photos. In all honesty, I'd recommend a mirrorless instead, Panasonic's GF and GH series are excellent for macro. Mind, you can buy a GF-3 and a kit lens [14-42mm] for about the same price as either of the cameras.

After having the LX5 and changing to the S100 I much prefer the S100.

I have to say I would far prefer to use a compact camera for macro over a M43rds camera, you can get closer and IMHO I don't rate M43rds cameras for macro without a macro lens.
