First of all, it is made in Japan. I have had several cameras, Nikon, Sony, FujiFilm, Samsung, Kodak, etc, in the last 5 years, all made in China, they all just got dead after few months of use. Canon PowerShot SX 230 makes amazing pics in all light conditions. Its night pics are light years ahead of my previous Sony compact camera, which was only 40£ cheaper than my Canon PowerShot SX 230 HS. Highly recommend the camera!
