To shoots Video & photos with friends & family outdoor, indoor & in nature too.

I have been using my camera Nikon S8 from past 6 years. I think I had utilized it more than 3 times than its cost & I should move on now to new one with new technology.  I love to take photos of friends, nature's, Indore & outdoor.  I love for being appreciated for my clicks. My needs are not so professional,I want to take photos such as 'if object is in focus & background is blurred' or ' very close focused photos of any object.'  I love to moods of people. But, I even have not used many features of Nikon my S8 may be I found all of them as same [ like scene modes]. Now, I would like to buy one camera, but I don't know really if I need DSLR or not. Or may be some pocket camera can still fulfill my requirements, but I don't know it.  Please help me on taking decision. I heard about Nikon D5100. I can also buy Samsung NX 200 & NX 11 on some discounted price. I need good optical zoom, may be 10X at least, but I can't make difference between 16 or 20 resolution or similar features so please suggest accordingly.
