Hey I can't really decide which camera I should take. Problem is that I am a student and my budget is limited. I would have to wait to get some more money for the 550d.

I want to take pictures. I think that's quite understandable, as I buy a camera. I'm just a hobby-photographer. I like to take picture of landscapes and people.

I also want to take videos. Problem here is that the 1100d only supports internal mic. That's a huge downfall for me, but I think i could capture audio with a different device. It also just takes 720p not 1080p.

Lenses are not important in this case, I will get my own not the kit-lenses.

And please don't tell me do buy a Nikon because

1. I want to take videos and Nikon cameras aren't that good in video as canon

2. I only ever had Canon cameras. I'm comfortable with them.

3. I have a Dad with a ton of Canon lenses ;)

So I want to ask you If the higher price of the 550d is reasonable and which camera I should rather buy. This would be my first "real" camera If I don't count a crappy camcorder
