I'm advanced, I just want good pictures, especially in low-light situations. I'm also considering the SX220/230/240 HS and P300. Of course the zoom trade-off should be made up with sufficient other good features.
I have used the Sony Alpha 100 and Canon A590 IS. I was disappointed in the Alpha 100 because of bad pictures in low-light situations and the A590 IS feels cheap, partly broke and the battery charge doesn't last long enough.
Which camera do you recommend for Nathan-van-der-Horst?
Canon SX260 HS - $240
12 MP|20x f/3.5|1/2.5" CMOS|3" LCD
Nikon P310 - $159
15.9 MP|4.2x f/1.8|1/2.5" CMOS|3" LCD
