outdoor photography possibly scenic...

I'm a beginner photographer and have been told by quite a few people  (that know about photography) that I can take some good photos I'd prefer to get a camera that I can play around with and learn some stuff so loads of cool futures is what I'm looking for. I'd like a camera that I can grow into rather than buy a cheaper one and find I'm restricted when I'm older, (17 btw)  I've really looked into the K-5 and can't see much that matches it.. Is this just the stats or is it as good as they say? . I like outdoor photography and scenic. I also enjoy playing around with macro stuff. I don't think I've had enough experience with decent cameras to know what I'm really good at.

Which camera do you recommend for Wesley-Egan?

Pentax K-5 - $675
16.1 MP|APS-C CMOS|3" LCD
Canon 60D - $699
17.9 MP|APS-C CMOS|3" LCD

Check out the Pentax Forums, a lot of K-5 users there, very early in production they had a sensor stain problem, but that was fixed. An exceptional camera that really compares to much costlier cameras.  I will be buying a K-5 or K-30 (to upgrade from my K20D), not sure which as they are very similar but each has some advantages.
