Your comparison summaries below are really helpful but they don't mention reliability. Hope "the community" has used enough of these u/w cameras to have some comments on that issue. I take a lot of still photos in the ocean (fish, dolphins, coral, etc.) Most in less that 15 feet of water, but occasionally down to about 25 feet. The water is exceptionally clear and I usually snorkel on sunny days. In addition to photo quality under these conditions, my main concern is: Assuming I exactly follow the use/care/maintenance instructions provided by the manufacturer, which camera is less likely to leak? I've read reviews of tons of these -- do they ALL leak??? I do not want one that needs a housing. My Lumix TS2 purchased in 2010 was fine except it leaked after about 15 months of moderate use and careful maintenance/handling. Also important: bright LCD screen; quick startup and "recycle" (correct term?) time. Not very important: big zoom; low price; GPS; movies. I would buy whichever brand and model meets my needs, not necessarily Olympus or Panasonic. (Note: on Amazon.com, the Lumix TS20 is described in different places on the same web page as being waterproof to 40 feet and 16 feet.) Hope you really wanted all this detail! Thanks for your input.
