If you are a "beginner at taking fotos and want to take the perfect pictures" I would recommend to invest money into learning, not into tools. As someone else said, the perfect pictures are up to you not the camera.

If you are a beginner you could get the cheapest used dSLR (or even any P&S) and be fine. When you learn enough you will know yourself what is the next tool (camera) you need. If a brand new dSLR is what you really want go for the most entry level (Nikon D3200 or Canon EOS 1100D,). I would recommend considering other than dSLR types of cameras too (mirrorless or P&S).

If you have made your mind to by a dSLR the really important thing to decide is the brand as each brand offers different possibilities on building up your system. Personally I like Nikon, though my specific needs I have selected Pentax.

Out of the 2 you have selected I would pick the 600D, 5D is overkill and it's much bigger size will be an inconvenience for your stated goals.

If you are completely new to DSLR photography then having a 5D2 will give you a very steep learning curve as this camera is aimed at professionals and enthusiasts who already possess sound technique and knowledge about cameras, Canon in particular. In short, they already know what it takes to get the best possible image with this camera, as this camera will offer you little or no help whatsoever in this regard.

Get a 600D (which is STELLAR camera for beginners and enthusiast), the VERY BEST lenses you can afford, and a photography course. The perfect pictures will come from having sound technique and good knowledge on lighting and composition, NOT from owning an expensive camera (this is what makes photography so great).

The 5D Mark II is a far superior camera to the 600D.  But if you're going to be doing sport and wildlife photography and zoom is important then the 600D will get you 1.6x closer to your subject.

As for taking perfect pictures... that's up to you, not the camera.  :)

U r a beginner then canon 600d should be a good first time dslr experience. But unfortunately if u want to gps tagged your pics the 600d same as the canon 60d wont be of any help.u would have to buy a gps receiver along with u then matched them on the way home on your laptop using a software.in that case i recommend the new entry level dslr 650d ..yes at last canon have decided to make gps receivers which can be directly connectec to your dslr and hence geotagged yor pic on the spot.if u are on a budget u can look at nikon d3100 or at their new entry level dslr the nikon d3200.

The 5D Mk II is NOT a pro camera, but a lot of pros use the 5D series. The pro full-frame has been the 1Ds (perhaps now superseded?).
