The 500D or 550D are both quite a step up from the 450D, especially for low light, high ISO use.

Hands down the Canon 550D, the 450D is a much older camera.

Expert IIIover a year ago Philip-DavisYeah, image quality is slightly better on the 550D. Then again, if you don't care about video and you can find the 450D for much cheaper, I'd say go for the 450D. I used one for two years and was mostly happy with it.
