Point and Shoot Photographer looking to upgrade

Rajesh-Venkataraman | Asked  over a year ago | Last response was 9 months ago

I am a point and shoot photographer. I would like to upgrade to a bit more professional camera but i don't want to go for a DSLR because of sheer size/weight. I have decided to go for Compact system Camera so I can carry the camera around for most of the time. I have shortlisted SONY NEX C3 and Panasonic DMC GF3. I am slightly interested towards NEX C3 than DMC GF3 because of the quality of the images, APS sensor, size, weight, 3D panorama features. But I am slightly concerned it does not have an in-built Flash. Will this be harder not to have a in-built flash? I have also read reviews that fitting the external flash on NEX C3 is a bit of a hassle. So i would like to know how can I take photos in low light environments without an in-built flash. Thanks in advance for any suggestions - Rajesh Venkataraman

My understanding is that the C3 ships with an external flash in the box.  You may want to validate that

Also look at the 5N it's been marked down lately because of the arrival of the 5S

Although the Sony NEX C3 doesn't have a built in flash it would still be my top choice.

The NEX C3 is great in low light situations, so you might find that you do not need the flash as much as you think you will.

I think I would buy a flash and just leave it on the camera, as it can fold flat.

Thanks Brendan for your suggestion. I would not be buying a external flash immediately as it shoots my budget. Do you think I would be fine for most of the situations without a flash?
