I am using the camera for film.

I am a beginner, I am looking to buy a good dslr that has a good cinematic feel to it, and is not too much money. I was thinking about the dmc ge and t2i.

It doesn't matter witch camera you take, you can do it with all large sensor camera's. But if film making is serious business for you, than I would consider to get the 5D mk III. A lot of money. But watch this movie:

Oh, why the GH2? It has a lot of software hacks that makes it as good as a MK II

Much  more of a cinematic photography camera, the G3 is extremely Flexible, and with a simple adapter, you can use ACTUAL CINEMA lenses... which allow for both MANUAL focus and Manual Aperture adjustments...

Taking a quick look around Ebay for c-mount Lenses, will show just how robust and thriving that underground world is... The Micro 4/3 to C-mount, or Minolta, or LEICA revolution, is truly the way to go... for that TRUE film feel.

combine that with Blogs giving tips, and the 24fps film setting on the G3... and you pretty much can't compare the two cameras at all.

The T2i is a MODEST entry, but it just doesn't compare to the G3 for cinema feel.

I personally prefer the T2i for PHOTOGRAPHY... but for making movies... not so much.
