I am more of a beginner user but have had my rebel t2i for 1.5 years now. I never am going to justify spending hundreds (or thousands) of dollars on lenses. I love the quality of photos I get from my canon however as I travel frequently it is a bit bulky and heavy to carry around for long periods of time. I am thinking of selling my dlsr and buying a Sony nex 5 or 7 but am not sure if it's worth the loss I'll take on my canon. Any thoughts would be great!

Which camera do you recommend for Lauren-Roberts?

Sony NEX-7 - $948
24 MP|APS-C CMOS|3" LCD
Canon T2i - $550
17.9 MP|APS-C CMOS|3" LCD

I truly love my mirrorless camera. I actually got a Olympus Pen, but if you're not a professional photographer and still like to play... I think mirrorless cameras just make sense.

I had the Olympus EP3 and just recently sold it. Prior to that purchase, I had the Sony Nex3. I really think that the picture quality was better on the Sony, but I wanted the EP3 for the art filters. :/ After having both, I realized that I REALLY miss the Sony, and plan on buying the Nex 7 (or possibly the Nex 5N). I cannot wait.
