great, clear photos

I'm looking to upgrade my existing Canon Powershot to a DSLR for product photography within my business, Project K. I run a styling/accessories company and have been contracting out photography to local artists for about a year. After staging three photo shoots (styling by me and my team including product placement, clothing, hair & makeup decisions) I feel confident I can produce similar, if not superior, results myself without having to DIRECT everyone into what I am envisioning. I had considered a Nikon D5100 but have ALWAYS used Canon's and didn't really want the whole 'learning curve' to be an issue. Just wanting a good overall camera and lens set up. Looking into the Canon EF-S 60mm f/2.8 Compact Macro AutoFocus Lens to add to the 18-55 kit lens as I think the abilities of that lens is what I'm looking for within my overall portfolio of work.

Any feedback would be much appreciated! thanks!
