24-70 lense on Canon or 50 mm on nikon

Which camera do you recommend for Nicolas-David?

    Nikon D800 and I am a Canon user. 24-70 Canon not brilliant

    go for the one you already have some accessories of. 5D m2 is not a bad choice and don't dismiss it as an old camera. And you can get some lenses with the rest of the money.

    5D Mk2 prices aren't exactly plummeting, same for D700. Two thoughts then: 1. They're expensive for old bodies. If there's a good outlook for future funds to buy Nikon lenses then I'd go D800 based on knowing almost nothing about what you do. 2. The 5D Mk2 will hold price well so if you want to go Mk3 you're not going to lose too much to depreciation when you sell. Assume you're looking at the newer Canon 24-70. I'd rather go D800 with it's nice complementary 24-70, albeit a bit after you got the body and the 50 1.4G.
