Taking fashion photos

Cristiane-Figueiredo | Asked  over a year ago | Last response was 9 months ago

I want to take fashion photos and I need to know which of those is better, because here in Brazil the Nikon is more expensive, and I want to know if it is worthy.

Please help me, its my first camera, thanks.

Which camera do you recommend for Cristiane-Figueiredo?

Fujifilm S4000 - $120
13.8 MP|30x f/3.1|1/2.5" CCD|3" LCD
Nikon L120 - $199
14 MP|21x f/3.1|1/2.5" CCD|3" LCD

Both of these will be suitable as first camera.  If your fashion photos are always shot outside with lots of sunlight and the photos are for personal use or perhaps posting to a blog then you'll be fine.

But if you're hoping to do any fashion shots inside in low light or in a studio then you would want to consider something with a larger image sensor (like a DSLR) and something with a hot shoe to take an external flash (or flash trigger).

I have no direct experience with either camera... so all I can really suggest is that you go to a camera store and ask to try both.  Figure out which you find easier to use.

    Good luck!

I'd also suggest the s4000 for dark/night shots. I do find that their can be some color saturation especially in red.
