I'm photography enthusiast and I plan to move on for my first dSLR. I want to buy a refurbished camera to keep the price down. I found a couple of interesting choices from Cameta.com . but I can't decide which one to buy. my choices are these:

1. Nikon D5000 + 18-55 mm VR for 440$

2. Nikon D3100 + 18-55 mm VR for 420$

3. Nikon D3000 + 18-55 mm VR for 360$

4. Nikon D3000 + 18-55 mm VR + 55-200 mm VR for 470$

as I told before I don't care movie mode since I don't like taking movies with photography camera and I just want to shoot photos. most of all Portrait, Party, Landscape and City photos.

Between the two models you ask for, D3100 and D5000, I think that the D5000 is better, and better in the most important points. Better body, and more solid and resistant (important in the wildlife photo). Better speed (4 fps vs 3 fps), important when shooting wildlife animals, who dont pose or wait for you. Better color depth (not much, but better: 22,7 vs 22,5) and MUCH better dinamic range (12,5 vs 11,3 EV). Forget the overweighted megapixels question, it makes no real difference 12,3 vs 14,1 MPx. The difference in the processor (EXPEED vs EXPEED 2) must not be too many important, I think. In this same page you can find the comparison between the two models, and the auto-mathematic sheet will say that the winner is the D3100... but note that the D5000 wins in the REALLY IMPORTANT points, as the D3100 wins in less important questions. Sorry for my bad english.
