Image quality, speed - shoots like a film camera

Colleen-Wilburt | Asked  over a year ago | Last response was a year ago

I currently shoot with a D70 - only 6.5mp...  I really want the D800 but don't financially see that happening fast enough.  So I have the D90, D7000 or the D300s in mind.  I have played with the D5100 and although it is a nice camera I prefer shooting with my D70, I like cameras that shoot like film cameras, without all the extra bells and whistles and settings that I have to put the camera down to change and I feel the D7000 might fall in that category.  I shoot people, nature (macro style) and equestrian events so I need something versatile.  I know any of these cameras are a huge step up from my current one.  Another hesitation on the D7000 is not having the in camera focus motor, I don't want to limit my lens choices.  I also found a bit of a shutter lag on the D5100 that I am also afraid I will find on the D7000.   The video stuff doesnt interest me that much. Thoughts????

Thanks in advance!!!

    Sir

D7000 does have a built-in focus motor which means all Nikkor AF lenses as well as AF-S and other lenses would work like a charm. Your choice won't be limited. Go for the D7000 or wait for some time until the D7100 is realeased if you are not in a hurry.

D7000 is the best camera out there among the 3 you listed, D90 is a step backward. Better go for D7000.

    I hope it helps.

The D7000 does have focus motor in the body, the D5000, D51000, D3000, D3100 & D3200, as well as a few others do not have it, but the D7000 has motor built in.
