I'm an experienced SLR photographer looking for a travel camera.  I'm just tired our lugging around my Canon EOS plus lenses.  I want something that takes high resolution pix and that my wife can use.  These  Sonys are very highly rated.  What's to choose between them

You guys gave great advice on a previous question.  Thanks

Which camera do you recommend for user43980?

Sony DSC-HX10V - $265
18 MP|16x f/3.3|1/2.5" Backlit CMOS|3" LCD
Sony DSC-HX9v - $480
15.9 MP|16x f/3.3|1/2" EXMOR|3" LCD

although i have never owned either, i asked many questions and became very familiar with both and it's features. based on your priorities and what you would be using it for, i suggest the 10v because it has better low light picture taking capabilities, it also has ISO maximum although you might not need it that high, it also takes great pictures, and has a larger sensor and more megapixels thus better photo quality and resolution for landscape photos and family. also the newer construction is better because they fixed the flash popup malfunctions that apparently caused a lot of problems for people with 9v
