im advanced amateur.i shoot with canon 5dmark 3.im no hater that is why i want to also get Nikon as my back up buddy .i travel a lot and need to take  some videos   on the go with out manual focus .so i want  to get a nice quality asp-c sensor camera that i can take anywhere with me .because my 5d is just to heavy and to spend y.so i need a camera to be close to quality of photos as my 5d .and yes i do understand 5d mark 3 is whole different beast.  but like canon 7d does amazing job keeping right up there with 5d photo quality  .(of course not   comparing ISO capabilities) but i WANT NIKON to :) please help decide .

Canons do better on movies tho, where the d7000 best the mark III on photos in every test, so, if your really getting movies then the canons seem to do a tad better, I think the canons give you more options? I have already done amazing videos with my d7000, but at 1080, it's only 24 frames not 30, or even 60

I'm not sure what tests you're thinking of where a camera with a cropped sensor has better image quality than a full-frame camera. DxO Labs found the 5D mark III to be far superior to the D7000 in every category except dynamic range.
