Paula, since you didn't mention video capabilities, I'd recommend the T2i. For improved macro results, you can get a screw on macro filter or a dedicated macro lens.
The 60D is a great camera too, but you'll be better served by buying a good lens.

I would take the Nikon D5100, because of it's good low light performance and amazing image quality. The canon ones have smaller sensors and will give you the same feeling as the G12...

Expert IIIa year ago Philip-DavisThis is misleading. The T2i and T3i have a sensor that is 7.5 times larger than the G12 and hence much better image quality. Futhermore, the D5100 is more expensive. A fairer comparison in the same price range would be the D3100.
