Video and Photo quality

Logan-Williams | Asked  a year ago | Last response was a year ago

I am looking to get my first DSLR for both video and photos. I want something with good video quality and photo quality preferably 16mp or above. I don't want to spend a whole lot of money, but I understand that it will cost me a good chunk of cash to get a good camera. What do you suggest I get?

Which camera do you recommend for Logan-Williams?

Canon T3i - $549
17.9 MP|APS-C CMOS|3" LCD
Canon T2i - $500
17.9 MP|APS-C CMOS|3" LCD

Both of these cameras will do an excellent job for you.  But I think you'll find that, for video, the flip out screen is very useful.  Go with the T3i.  Ignore Nikon because their video capabilities just aren't at the level Canon is at.

I would take the D5100, because of it's good low light performance and amazing image quality.
