Good Price, Good Quality

Ahmed-Darwish | Asked  a year ago | Last response was a year ago

I want to upgrade from point-and-shoot cameras to the next level, but I am in two minds between the DSLR Nikon D3200 and the ILC Panasonic DMC-GF2. What do you think?

Which camera do you recommend for Ahmed-Darwish?

Panasonic DMC-GF2 - $300
12 MP|Four Thirds CMOS|3" LCD
Nikon D3200 - $547
24.1 MP|APS-C CMOS|3" LCD

Better add a little more and get a D5100 !

If you want to carry your camera in pocket go for mirror less but try something with bigger sensor.

And if you want DSLR D5100 or T3i are best choices in that price range.

Buy the GF2, another m4/3 lens, and a couple lens conversions (~$15) to let you use film camera manual lenses, which can be picked up at value village for a few bucks, or about $20 on eBay. Lenses matter more than the body.

Buy the GF2 and get another lens, will be a better deal.
