13 years old, taking photos more than video

youngphotolover | Asked  over a year ago | Last response was 8 months ago

i'm 13 years old and just getting started with dslr photography but at my young age i can't afford an expensive camera so this are all my options. despite i'm only 13 i do know almost everything about dslr photography, and obviously i know that canon's t2i is much better than nikon d3100 but i mean this would be my first dslr so i have no experience so with YOUR experience, which one would you consider better and why? (ignore the price, i can afford both)

Which camera do you recommend for youngphotolover?

Nikon D3100 - $447
14.2 MP|APS-C CMOS|3" LCD
Canon T2i - $540
17.9 MP|APS-C CMOS|3" LCD

I'm 15, and I'm going with the t2i, I've shot with the d3100 but not the t2i. One of the main reasons I'm going with the t2i is because of the OS (operating system), it is the same OS that is on the higher up canon's like the 60d and such. On the Nikon, they put on this dumbed down OS that just kinda makes you feel... Stupid. This is my opinion and if you prefer an easier OS, that is perfectly fine.

The D3100 is great. I bought it when i had your age, i just bought a D300 3 days ago, which obviously is a step up, but still; D3100 is a bloody fantastic camera.
