I am looking at the Pentax k30, but worried i will sacrifice quality

I am an intermediate shooter, that is just getting back into the game and looking to take my photography to the next level. I currently have a canon 20D that I got about 7 years ago. i am getting back into photography and wnat to do more events photography: live music, sports, parties..etc.

I am not too concerned about the video properties.

I have been looking at the pentax k30, but am unsure about switching from a canon to pentax, whether i will notice a difference in the quality of the lenses.

I'd rather not buy new lenses while I already have a couple canon lenses that work just fine.

Which camera do you recommend for James-Oborne?

Pentax K-r - $400
12.2 MP|APS-C CMOS|3" LCD
Canon 600D
17.9 MP|APS-C CMOS|3" LCD

Pentax has excellent lenses and in general cheaper than Canon or Nikon for the same quality. However ultimately it is more about how the camera "feels" to you. The K-30 is a very good camera that you can purchase for a very reasonable price.
