Best superzoom for taking bird pics!

Sanjay-Tiwari | Asked  a year ago | Last response was a year ago

I intend to use the camera for shooting birds & butterflies,  preferably w/o a tripod.

I am looking for a superzoom for this.....and have narrowed down to Cannon SX40 & Panasonic DMC FZ150.

I want the gurus & the experts to guide me..

Thanks,

Which camera do you recommend for Sanjay-Tiwari?

Panasonic DMC-FZ150 - $547
12 MP|24x f/2.8|1/2.5" CMOS|3" LCD
Canon SX40 - $319
12 MP|35x f/2.7|1/2.5" CMOS|2.7" LCD

The Canon SX40 is nearly $100 cheaper, and has a greater zoom, it is great bang for your buck. But the Panasonic FZ150 has lots of cool features, so if you are willing to spend the extra money and can forgo the zoom length I would recommend that one.

Thanks! Have you heard any information concerning upgrades for both?
