The most important quality for me is image quality and night time snap

Hi

I currently own Sony DSC H7 . but i am dissatisfied with the images it get in case of bright light and night time outdoors.

Apart from these two scenarios its a great camera.

I am looking for a camera to relace mine but will like to  buy the cheapest option that can solve my problems.

Kindly suggest

Always, dude. Low light performance is king in this camera

you can shoot at bright areas with controlling ISO and EV setting and for low light areas ..the digital cams are very unfriendly whatever you try they are blurred or grainy ...only solution is fix your camera in a place ,in level ....like on a table or higher place focus to your position and click on 10 sec timer ...with the Night shot settings ! at that time also you have to be very still like a stone ! for the solution you have only one option DSLR with low light capability and a lens with low aperture number like "f1.8"

you need to check for similar options

apsc cannot compare with a point n shoot

d5100 would be a good upgrade - then you will never look back to point n shoot or even micro4/3rds
