Buy new canon t3i or get my dads nikon d90?

kktigerpaws | Asked  11 months ago | Last response was 7 months ago

I'm a highschool student with interest in photography and filming. Should I buy a canon t3i, or use my dads nikon d90? I personally like the t3i because its less heavy, and more convenient for me. But some reviews say that the nikon n90 is better. Which one should i go for?

If it is your first DSLR, I'd go for the Nikon D90, not because it is better, but cos you already have it. You could try it, and see how much you really are into photography. If you're really interested in photography, I'm sure that after a while you'd buy another camera anyway. So, why buy it now, when you can shoot great photos with what you have.

If video is what you are looking for then go with the T3i, the D90 is a great camera (I own it) but for video it is lacking. The D90 was the first generation of video DSLRs. Canon is considered the leader in video DSLRs.

Weather resistant (Great for taking pictures if your in a hurricane)

Better quality of pictures (just compare them to K-30)

And good Bang for your Buck :).
