Deciding between these cameras

I've always wanted a camera that would make me look professional and take amazing photos like ones you see in magazines and on websites and i know the D3100 is capable of that, but i get out a lot and the g3 always has caught my eye and today i went to tesco and they had one on show that you could take photos with and i did and it was amazing but they also had a D3100 and it didn't have a memory card and wouldn't take a photo so i couldn't judge but please help someone thanks.

    For "looking professional" you will need as big camera as you can take and DSLR is your best option :)

    But If you want to keep camera compact — you better look at mirrorless cameras.

    If you are tight on budget, buy G3 — it is best when you want great options by the decent price. As a bonus you will get exceptional video recording ability — better than most camcorders.

    But if you need maximum image quality, check Sony Nex 5N or its family.
