As the others have mentioned, try your camera with a lower megapixel setting, perhaps 5 or 8MP in P (Programmed Auto), or M (Manual) if available - you may be able to set your ISO at a higher level, 3200 or Hi-1. Since your camera is able to use 1600 - 6400 ISO I imagine it will have both a Hi-1 and Hi-2 setting.
What is your answer?

Usually cameras with an option for high ISO settings only have it available with certain other settings, such as only in "P" mode or in only shutter priority, or aperture priority mode. I'd try putting the camera on different manual modes and see if the ISO of 3200 becomes available.
It also may be only available if your photos are below a certain amount of megapixels. Try that as well.

Page 56 and 57 of your manual mention ISO 3200 and even ISO 6400.

Just decrease the resolution, maybe like 5 MP?
