Why does the G11 seem to be priced significantly higher than the G12?

A question about Canon G11, Canon G12

I am an avid amateur who has taken photographs for 4 years plus.  Got the G11 to take with me when I didn't feel like lugging those bodies and all that glass around.  Don't get me wrong, I will still get plenty of use from the DSLR's, but will go with me as an acceptable substitute for traveling and just general snapshots.  I found the G11 consistently priced significantly more than the G12 and was curious why.  Thanks, Phillip

Given that the G10 and G11 cameras are not made anymore, those who want them will pay more for one in good condition. In the case of the G10, many folks preferred the high resolution over improved ISO performance. Seeing as the G11 and G12 are virtually identical, I wouldn't be concerned about which model you find if the price is right.
