Battery Life

Charlie-Salisbury | Asked  a year ago | Last response was a year ago

I was just wondering, what is the actual battery life of both of the cameras?

Which camera do you recommend for Charlie-Salisbury?

Canon T3i - $520
17.9 MP|APS-C CMOS|3" LCD
Nikon D5100 - $497
16.1 MP|APS-C CMOS|3" LCD

The Nikon D5100 takes more photos per battery charge according to CIPA rated tests, have you seen the CIPA rated values of 660 shots for the Nikon D5100 and 440 shots for the Canon T3i on the comparison?

Hopefully those are somewhat accurate, e.g. based on a test of some kind.

Ah yes, thanks!! What SLR would you suggest for a beginner such as myself. I have been looking around sites and have found that a lot of people are saying that the Canon Rebel T3/T3i is a good camera to get? Hence why I asked about it in the first place! However, I really am unsure as to what to buy!

Canon and Nikon are the leaders in DSLRs, and both have great SLRs for beginners, either the Canon T3/T3i, or the Nikon D3200/D5100. You really can't go wrong either way, I think Canon is the more popular choice, so that might influence your decision! I'm a Nikon shooter myself.
