Really need help on deciding!

I'm an aspiring photographer who is 17 years old. I'm finally upgrading from a 400D mainly for the video option as I am keen on creating more films. I know both of these cameras have almost identical video quality but the 60D is slightly better for photos due to the autofocus and such. I've been taking photos for almost 2 years now as a hobby and I do with the 400D (I have won a couple of small extreme sports photo competitions) so I'm not sure if I should go for the 60D for extra photo capabilities. I shoot a lot of extreme sports, landscape and long exposure photos but I . My main question is:

  • Is the 60D worth an extra $300 over the 600D (Body only)?

Which camera do you recommend for Brian-Nguyen?

Canon 600D
17.9 MP|APS-C CMOS|3" LCD
Canon 60D - $699
17.9 MP|APS-C CMOS|3" LCD

If you shoot video then the articulating screen of the 600D (and the new 650D) would always come in handy. The savings could be used for a nice spanking L lens later on, they are a much better investment than the camera body.

The cost justification is entirely up to the user. I have used both these cameras (I always get sent Canon cameras to test), and the build and the handling of the 60D is what seperates it from the 600D. It's a beefier and sturdier camera which can be used for hours, and in rougher environments.
