Want a better hq camera, sell or keep my xsi for learning?

so i recently received a Canon Eos Digital Rebel XSi(dslr) for my birthday and i'm already looking at better cameras. I've been comparing my camera mostly to the Rebel T4i and the T3i. My Xsi doesn't have a flip-out screen and to my disappointment does not take videos. i'm interested in photography in general and would like to be able to take pictures at events, portraits, landscape photos, excellent macro photos and high quality night photos. I'm not sure if i should save up and use my XSi until i've got a job, and then sell it or just save up and get another camera once i've got the money. Also, which one would be better? in my mind i think the T4i but i would also like others opinions. :)

Which camera do you recommend for amandavkth?

Canon T3i - $520
17.9 MP|APS-C CMOS|3" LCD
Canon Rebel XSi - $530
12.2 MP|APS-C CMOS|3" LCD
Canon T4i - $690
17.9 MP|APS-C CMOS|3" LCD

I started with an XSi and was quite happy with it.  The image quality will be slightly better with the T3i/T4i... but the difference will be imperceptible to the naked eye.

The lack of flip out screen really only hampered me for a few shoots (to put that in perspective, my shutter count is over 28,000).

As for video, I never cared about it -- at least, not in the sense that I want professional looking video.  I just use my iPhone for brief clips of my sons doing cute things.  If video is important to you then obviously the XSi won't cut it.

Use the XSi, learn what you like about it and what you need in a new camera, and then when you have the money buy a camera that better meets your needs. The best camera, is the one you have with you.
