yes it can shoot bokeh, but i don't know how good is good enough for you. for macro shots, depth of field is great. for tele shots, it is harder to achieve. one way of going around this is by post editing, such as picasa or photoshop.

Hi CroGirl! I own a similar camera to this, the P100, and I was disappointed to find that this 'upgrade' had a smaller maximum aperture then mine which was older. Aperture is the size of the hole that light enters through to get to the sensor. The larger it is, the more appealing bokeh shots you will get. Smaller f values such as F/1.8 and F/1.4 will get you better bokeh than F/22 which is a very small aperture. The p510 will still do good bokeh if you use the 'A' mode and set the aperture to as low as possible, then use macro focus mode to take close ups. Hope this helps! :)
