Hi all,

currently i have a canon point and shot camera.
I now want to upgrade my camera from  point-and-shoot to a DSLR. After long research and reading many post in the internet, I have shortlisted D5100, D3200 and Canon 550D.
But i am very much confused, which one i should buy among above three ? please suggest.

It will be highly appreciated if you can give me your advice/suggestion.

Which camera do you recommend for Sanjoy-Das?

Canon 550D - $1,099
17.9 MP|APS-C CMOS|3" LCD
Nikon D5100 - $497
16.1 MP|APS-C CMOS|3" LCD
Nikon D3200 - $547
24.1 MP|APS-C CMOS|3" LCD

being a beginner you would also consider the price point

    that drills down to nikon

now d3200 gives you 24mpx latest sensor while d5100 gives a good 16mpx, swivel screen (a very good feature) and bracketing features -

all 3 are similar in image quality and other comparisons

i use a d5100 and my cousin has a d3200 and we have found both cams give similar results - however he envy's the swivel screen which allows me to go a point ahead in creativity

I would choose the Nikon D5100 because of its slightly better low-light performance. Also HDR and the flip-out screen are good features. If resolution matters more than these, choose the D3200.

Take a look at the image quality comparison, also look the conclusion page.

I'd say buy cheap model among these.Because all of them work very well , there 's very negligible difference in the results they create. One cannot differentiate or sort out the best photo taken by any of these.Don't go others way.try by yourself.Search every DSLR model in FLICKR.com and see the photo taken by them and decide...!I didn't find any significant difference.Just be sure to invest more on lens, because good lens do make a difference in effect to spectators.

Nikon d3200 have new sensor . its sam with d7000 also have a high pixel(24mp) . When you print your pictures you can see better resutls than nikon d5100.

And Nikon d3200 have wifi connect. Nikon WU-1a wireless mobile adapter;, it enables your Android phone or tablet (and soon, iOS device) to act as a wireless display. You shoot an image, and within seconds, that image is ready for your ogling on a far larger display than the 3-incher found on the D3200's backside. For those looking for a far better way to review each shot without pulling out the laptop, this is it.its important in the future.

I have sorted same options and i think i will go for Nikon D3200. For Nikon D5100 yes it has rotating screen but many of ma frnds who are in  photography told me that the screen will get damage (as it can rotate)after rough use as compared to fixed screen in D3200.
