Choosing The Perfect Camera For Me

efwcelia | Asked  10 months ago | Last response was 6 months ago

I wanted to have a DSLR so badly, and finally Dad agreed to buy me one! This is my first DSLR (obviously), and I found out that my photography style is ACTION, as I want to take photos of my dog. Dad offered me a Canon EOS 60D, which I found expensive. I'm just afraid that EOS 60D might be too much for me. I'm a beginner and 60D is more suitable for people who has ever used DSLR before and is thinking to change their camera to a better one. If so, then the money might be a waste. Ok, so I actually only go for Canon cameras and among EOS 550D, 600D, and 650D, which one is more suitable for me? Or is there any other camera that you find is good for me?

Which camera do you recommend for efwcelia?

Canon 600D
17.9 MP|APS-C CMOS|3" LCD
Canon 550D - $1,099
17.9 MP|APS-C CMOS|3" LCD
Canon 60D - $699
17.9 MP|APS-C CMOS|3" LCD
Canon 650D - $527
17.9 MP|APS-C CMOS|3" LCD

If I were you I'd take 650d. 60d is bigger and if you are a girl you'd appreciate xxxd range size and grip. 650d is new, have a bunch of new features and will keep its value for a year or two when you'll may want to change it. Your father will accept buy it instead of 60d, while it will be harder to convince him buy you 600d.

Pick yourself up a Canon 600D, the 650D just came out which should mean that the 600D is cheaper now. In my opinion there is no good reasons to spend the extra money on the 650D.
