Nikon d3200 vs canon t2i

Alicia-Backlund | Asked  9 months ago | Last response was 8 months ago

I am a beginner. I love taking photos and I'm ready to upgrade to a DSLR. I have a fettish for high quality photos and my basic kodak digital camera is just not giving me what I'd like. I will mostly be using the camera when I go on outings with friends and family/portraits, vacations, holiday and occasionally some scenery. I take some video but not much and am really just looking for a camera that takes great quality pictures and that i can learn on. If there is another camera you would suggest, im open... Please help!

Which camera do you recommend for Alicia-Backlund?

Canon T2i - $550
17.9 MP|APS-C CMOS|3" LCD
Nikon D3200 - $547
24.1 MP|APS-C CMOS|3" LCD

D5100 is the best value for money in the entry-level DSLR category. Better image quality than on the D3200 or T2i. If you want to invest more, pick an affordable semi-pro like Pentax K-5.

    Hello,

I've had read lots of reviews for choosing between these two and they all were almost saying that D3200 is better than T2i, I'm as beginner as you are and hence could not judge any of them but I've kinda fond of Nikon(and also reviews were good for it) so I've got Nikon D3200 and I'm very happy with it's results and more importantly it feels friendly :) which is what a beginner really needs. I don't have any idea about T2i personally as D3200 is my first dslr,

but I guess for both these cameras you would like to use better lenses rather than kit-lenses, there are plenty of them for both brands even I'm planning to have Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8G Lens.

    Good Luck :)
