I strongly recommend the 550D, because I had it. When I upagraded it to the 600D I almost cry. There's a problem with the 600D talking about noise. You can appreciate noise even @ 100 ISO... my suggest: Don´t buy it!

both are smae just swivel screen is lacking in 550d.If the swivel screen is really in your preference then go for 600D. Otherwise both are great,I have my 550D and I am so happy with it.I just need lenses. :) ! if possible ,buy zoom lens of range 18-135mm IS or 18-250mm IS .Best of luck !
