I recommend you check out creativeLIVE to learn more about photography. I'd say most of their courses are aimed at the intermediate level... but from time to time they have courses that are for beginners. The best part is that it's free.
YouTube is another source of video education but the quality varies.
I've also heard the name Lynda.com a few times. I believe they have better production quality (but I think you have to pay for the courses)
