I love the panoramic option, great for taking group pictures.
Rated 100% by by Rose (Oct, 2011)
Picture quality is good, but not even close to the advertised 14MP sharpness.
Rated 60% by by cgp10 (Jun, 2010)
The camera takes pictures way beyond my usage, the panoramic option is really cool because it stitches the pics together and you cannot tell where one starts and one ends.

Lens

If you need more zoom than a 3x, try a 10x.

Battery

I charged up 4 sets of batteries and they lasted almost 2 weeks and I was taking lots of pictures.
Kodak Easyshare Z990 MAX | Rated 80% by by Happytraveler (Nov, 2011)
I had to take out the batteries and let it reset as I was taking pictures of a couple of lion cubs.
Kodak Easyshare Z990 MAX | Rated 80% by by Happytraveler (Nov, 2011)
The dealer I got this from was excellent, they sent me another charger immediately when the one I got with the camera did not charge the batteries until 48 hours of being plugged in.

Photography

She can experiment with photography and I am not stressing that she is ruining a $600 camera.
Kodak Easyshare Z990 MAX | Rated 80% by by Kimbo (Jan, 2012)
I got the camera two days before a Kenyan safari.
Kodak Easyshare Z990 MAX | Rated 80% by by Happytraveler (Nov, 2011)

Zoom

The only problem was trying to use the maximum zoom while floating in a canoe, a problem unique to the BWCA, The geometry of a bouncing canoe and the maximum zoom makes it difficult to focus on something like an eagles nest located a half-mile away.
Kodak Easyshare Z990 MAX | Rated 80% by by Jerry-Hughes (Jul, 2010)

Panorama

The feature I enjoyed most, once I figured out how to match up photos was the panoramic setting.
