Otherwise, it has an impressive roster of features and capabilities, including a 4.1-megapixel sensor, a Carl Zeiss 3X zoom lens, two burst modes, 640x480 video capture at 30fps, strong battery life, and fast response times.
Cyber-shot DSC-HX10V by c|net (Sep, 2005)
But with only $70 between them and a whole lot of feature differences including an Exmor R sensor, full HD movie capture, GPS, and a 920K-dot-resolution LCD, the H70 is a tough sell unless you truly only want a basic compact megazoom that takes nice photos.

sensor size

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX10V
Sony Cybershot DSC-HX9v
Sony Cyber-shot DSC-WX150
To recap: a full-frame sensor is the equivalent size of a frame of 35mm film.

Keep in mind that while the aperture determines the amount of depth of field you'll have at a given focal length, so does sensor size.

wide angle lens

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX10V
Sony Cybershot DSC-HX9v
Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H90
The Sony Cyber-shot produces incredibly sharp pictures and the "wide angle" has come in handy.
Cyber-shot DSC-HX10V by Champignon (Mar, 2013)
The wide angle gives a better view of small rooms than a standard lens.

aperture size

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX10V
Canon PowerShot SX240 HS
Canon PowerShot SX260 HS
It bests the 8-megapixel EVF-camera competition by offering both excellent wide-angle capabilities with a 28mm-to-200mm focal length range (35mm-camera equivalent) and a f/2.0-to-f/2.8 maximum aperture that promises good low-light performance.
Cyber-shot DSC-HX10V by c|net (Sep, 2005)
The HX200V's movie mode is one of the best you'll find in its category (though the Panasonic FZ150 bests the HX200V in shutter and aperture controls).

It's not perfect, but for its price and size, it's an excellent choice if you're after a very pocket-friendly snapshooter with some extra zoom.

The zoom is amazing and so clear when used to take a picture!

What's most remarkable about the TX66 is that you get all of the above in a camera that is roughly the height and width of a business card and the thickness of a AA battery.
Cyber-shot DSC-HX10V by c|net (Sep, 2005)
If you're looking for a compact or lightweight model, this isn't it; the Cyber Shot F828 weighs about 2 pounds with battery and media loaded, making it the heaviest non-dSLR camera we've seen.

The battery life is a CIPA-rated 340 shots, which is very good, but if you're shooting a lot of video, have the display brightness cranked up, or are using a lot of the multishot modes or burst shooting, this will cut into your battery life.

max continuous shooting

Combined with the lack of a regular slow-but-steady burst that can shoot a larger number of frames, the HX1 becomes far less useful for continuous shooting than it really should be.
Cyber-shot DSC-HX10V by c|net (Sep, 2005)
Continuous shooting yielded an average of 2.1 frames per second regardless of image size or quality.

Sony may be a camera-come-lately with its Cyber-shot DSC-RX100 enthusiast compact, but boy, what a debut: a fast performer equipped with a relatively large sensor and a bright, fast lens, and wrapped in a small, sleek body.

I will say that the HX5 has been the most durable camera that I've owned in a long time and the HX10 appears to have great build quality as well.

As one reviewer remarks, the color accuracy is not entirely accurate.

While blues and reds maybe aren't as accurate as other colors, they're still nice looking with all colors turning out bright and vivid.

At just barely more than half an inch thick, the TX200V features an 18-megapixel Exmor R backside-illuminated sensor, a 5x f3.5-4.8 26-130mm Carl Zeiss lens, and a 3.3-inch 1.2-million-dot-resolution touch-screen OLED display.

The photo quality looks pretty typical for a similarly specced camera, a compact with a 10-megapixel sensor and 4x zoom lens or better, though to find comparison models-these include options like the Panasonic DMC-FX500, the Nikon Coolpix S60, and the Canon PowerShot SD880 IS-you have to look a couple of price classes down.

Image quality

Image quality is impressive, with nice color accuracy and accurate exposures that tend to preserve shadow detail at the expense of highlight detail when forced to compromise.

If you don't fall into that category, Sony's added simple sliders for brightness, hue, and saturation, so you can tune them to your liking.

The camera is capable of consistently nice snapshots, particularly outdoors in daylight, mostly because it produces bright and natural and fairly accurate colors up to ISO 800.
