All shooting conditions being equal, I would prefer to have a 5 megapixel image from my Lumix rather than a 10 megapixel image from the Fuji FinePix.
FinePix Z33WP by Chad-Baker--darkbeach72 (Sep, 2009)
Remember: megapixels don't mean squat if you don't have a decent lens, auto-focus system, processor, memory card, etc..

From a water proof perspective, it worked flawlessly, and we have both photos and video from under water on our vacation.

Fujifilm FinePix Z33WP
Fujifilm FinePix XP20
Regardless, it had the zoom that worked perfectly.
FinePix Z33WP by C.-Ochsner (Oct, 2009)
There's some minor barrel distortion at the wide end, but otherwise, given its protective glass, the lens is reasonably sharp at the center and consistent edge to edge.

Since I was snorkeling and floating on top of the water bobbing up and down, fighting against the current and using mostly the zoom feature my expectation was a lot of blurred pictures.
FinePix Z33WP by C.-Ochsner (Oct, 2009)
Figured I'd take a chance on this camera, I do a good bit of kayaking and was hoping I might get a decent waterproof with abit of optical zoom.

The tiny size and lightweightness of the Fuji Z33 WP are perfect for pocket portability.
FinePix Z33WP by whoareyou (Mar, 2009)
However, as a secondary camera for those times when you need a pocket camera that can get wet, dusty, or cold, or might need to survive a drop, it's an OK option.

There's a Program mode if you want a little more control over things like ISO and white balance, but I found the SR Auto mode reliable enough to use most of the time when shooting in sunlight.

*The automatic flash is very quick, unlike some cameras that automatically do the "three-flash" thing ... you don't miss any actions shots.

Initially I was impressed with the camera, the ergonomics were good, size was right and the texture of the body seemed like it would be easy to grip wet.

I would recomend this to anyone looking for a great waterproof camera.

If people want excellent HD video than buy an expensive hd video camera, Or professional pictures buy an expensive DSLR.

If it is dark out, and the intelligent setting is trying to use "face" mode or anything other than "night" mode, it would probably be best to override the settings manually.

Small and easier to take than my larger cameras, and it takes awesome photos and videos.
