All of the sample images in this review were taken using the 16 megapixel Fine JPEG setting, which gives an average image size of around 8Mb.

I realize that it's saving larger files (14.1 megapixels versus 8.0 megapixels), but I can't wait 2 seconds in between shots.

The camera will need to have a highly intelligent computer to make sure it uses the right ISO to get the pictures as smooth as possible.

On the other hand, because of consistent color at higher ISOs, the photos are better than from other cameras at this price; they just get slightly washed out at and above ISO 400.

This model has a better optical zoom and bigger MegaPixal count than previous models and for the price it beats out a ton of the other cameras it's size.

You see, the A2200 is a reasonably solid camera with surprisingly good picture quality for the fingernail-sized sensor, which is par for the course with Canon; the optics are about equivalent to the kit lens on an EOS Rebel DSLR, so although you won't be reading shelf tags from 50 feet away, you can still print out a pretty good sized blowup of any given shot.

It selects a wide aperture to let as much light in as possible while speeding up the ISO to make the sensor more sensitive to light.

One thing I was curious about was controlling the camera to take advantage of the f/2.8 aperture...there are no Aperture Priority modes that would think to be pretty simple to program into the camera, but if you play around enough with Live mode you can get the camera to act accordingly.

I think that Fuji Finepix T400 camera with the 16MP and he 40X Zoom would blow this one away, but it is $459 so I would expect it to be better than this one.

The A2200 is a great digital camera, it provides excellent optical zoom, which, to those of you aware of, is the actual camera lenses functioning to focus on an image.

This camera is lightweight, but works awesome.

I love the size of the camera and needed a small camera besides my Nikon D50 which is sometimes awkward.
