There still seems to be confusion about whether in RAW, or at least when in RAW, you are actually getting a 12 megapixel image or a 6 megapixel one.

While the X10's AF system focusing speed is roughly on par with compact camera competitors like the Panasonic LX5, it lags behind the performance of the best contrast-detect systems we've seen, like those in the current crop of Micro Four Thirds cameras, for instance.

Nikon Coolpix P310

I wanted a camera to do group photos and the wide angle on this is nice.
Coolpix P310 by lee196 (Nov, 2012)
Personally, I loved the smoother, less resistant original lens, but can only assume that Fuji bowed to the handful of whiners who complained that it was too easy to turn it off when rotating to the Wide Angle position.... really.

Nikon Coolpix P310

Still, dual controls for setting the aperture and shutter speed is very rare on any compact, so kudos to Nikon for including both on the P310.

The good thing is that it is FAST f/2 to f/2.8-thats much better than most small P/S's and probably the MAIN REASON i bought this camera.

Viewed from the perspective of the average point-and-shoot upgrader though, the P310 is a small, pocketable camera with improved ergonomics, that offers full manual control over exposure and gives decent if not exceptional image quality in a wide variety of shooting conditions.
Coolpix P310 by DPReview (Jun, 2012)
Bottom line is the X10 is better built, resolves detail better, is cleaner at higher ISO settings, manual zoom, focuses much faster, great skin tones and has a very good viewfinder.

battery life

230 photos
300 photos
Like the P510, its long-zoom sibling and some Samsung compact cameras, the P310's 230-shot (CIPA rated) battery is charged in-camera with its USB AC adapter; the battery can also be charged via a computer's USB port.
Coolpix P310 by DPReview (Jun, 2012)
We don't really see the point of using the Continuous IS mode for either stills or video, particularly since it taxes the X10's already short battery life.
Finepix X10 by DPReview (Jul, 2012)

max continuous shooting

The headline continuous shooting speed is 6fps – however, if you select this frame rate you’ll only be able to capture five frames at full resolution, making it not entirely useful.
Coolpix P310 by TrustedReviews (May, 2012)
Its burst shooting sounds fast, but it's pretty limited: 7.5fps for one second.

Having access to wide apertures throughout its zoom range, along with a very good IS system - and of course a large 2/3" sensor - means you can shoot without flash in low light conditions such as restaurant interiors and come away with pleasing images.

The zoom itself covers a 35mm equivalent focal range of 24-100mm, although the main draw is really its fast maximum aperture.

If I were Fujifilm, I'd gut the damn thing and put inside a simpler IQ, a better sensor and battery, and I'd make damn sure the lens is dust-proof.
