The SX150 IS gives very nice image quality in macro mode, and as I'd expect from Canon's PowerShot line, exposure in flash photographs is good, too.

On the plus side, you can zoom during movie recording, which hasn't always been the case from budget Canon compacts.

It can focus as close as 4 inches from a subject, but the 16-megapixel resolution will let you enlarge for a closer look.
Coolpix S6200 by c|net (Dec, 2011)
Just like its predecessor, the SX150 IS is very much an evolutionary upgrade, falling into the same incremental yearly cycle that a lot of modern compact cameras seem to follow, with more megapixels, intelligent image stabilisation, creative filters and the one-touch movie button being the new standout highlights.

Do not expect to be blown away by the quality of the pictures unless you took them outdoors and forced the ISO to be 200 or below, everything else will be good enough pictures.
Coolpix S6200 by inabon (Nov, 2011)
Although not the most slender compact camera out there, the SX150 IS comfortable and easy to use, and its stabilized 12X optical zoom offers impressive versatility coupled with good (for this class) image quality at low ISO sensitivity settings.

wide angle lens

Nikon Coolpix S6200
Canon PowerShot SX150 IS
The super-slim S6200 gets a longer, more versatile 10x lens for 2011, which captures everything from wide-angle landscapes to close-up and personal candid shots, all without making the overall camera too much bigger or heavier.
Coolpix S6200 by Photography Blog (Nov, 2011)
The 12 X wide angle Optical lens does anexcellent job on the photos I have taken.
PowerShot SX150 IS by Leon-J.-Nunez (Oct, 2011)

The lens has a fairly fast maximum aperture of f/3.2 at the wide-angle end but a rather slow f/5.8 at full telephoto.
Coolpix S6200 by Photography Blog (Nov, 2011)
This camera allows the user to set the aperture to accomodate low light settings, so pictures are AMAZING!

The Nikon Coolpix S6200 is a solid if slightly unexciting travel-zoom compact camera that offers enough features and image quality to satisfy the point-and-shoot user without breaking the bank.

If you don't mind, please, tell me what are the good compact cameras with an HD video, at least 10x optical zoom, manual settings and most importantly- with a GOOD battery life.

Coolpix S6200 by Photography Blog (Nov, 2011)
Continuous shooting measured less than half a frame per second at full resolution and although that's faster than single-shot mode, it's still pretty slow compared to other cameras in its class.
