I just wish someone would put a DSLR size sensor in a mega zoom camera!
Lumix DMC-FZ150 by Chris-Bonadonna (Jul, 2012)
I knew that a super zoom would have a small sensor, it had to, because of the size of the lens.

I love the weight, much lighter than the cameras that take 4 AA batteries (really)!

So far I'm very impressed with its powerful lens, image stabilization, RAW image capture, battery life, and flexibility.
Lumix DMC-FZ150 by Anne-Chadwick--WriterPhotog (Feb, 2012)
Overall, this camera is very fun to use, and it's weakest points are bareable and are most regarding to battery life.
Coolpix P510 by Edward (Mar, 2012)

max continuous shooting

The burst mode menu is very nice and easy to access from a dedicated button on top of the camera.
Lumix DMC-FZ150 by JCV (Mar, 2012)
The P510's maximum framerate of 7 frames per second is unlikely to get much use, but it's nice to have, although the maximum 5 frames per burst greatly limits its usefulness.

Default JPEG image quality at full resolution is very good and, if you don't like what you see, there's plenty of scope for adjustment with color, contrast, saturation, sharpness and noise-reduction sliders all available.

Video quality is pretty good for casual viewing and auto white balance and auto exposure worked quite well outdoors in sunlight and shadow.

The Panasonic FZ150 is undoubtedly expensive for what is essentially a seriously beefed-up compact camera, but with its stand-out new sensor it could well be the only still and video camera that most people actually require.

The Nikon Coolpix P510 may not produce the best photos at higher ISO speeds or focus quickly enough for fast-moving subjects, but it's a lot more portable and convenient than an SLR with a bag full of lenses and also doubles up as an effective video camera thanks to its excellent movie mode, making it worthy of our Highly Recommended award.

On the other hand, if you don't regularly enlarge or crop photos for large prints, the photos straight from the camera might be perfectly fine.

This camera has AMAZING color quality, faster shutter speed, captured photos way faster speeds, a viewfinder, and captures 1080p movies (and yes, like other reviews have stated, you CAN hear the zoom on video playback, but I can overlook that for all its other features) this was a wonderful option for me and I highly recommend it!

But for it price point the fz150 excellent camera for a family wanting a all in one still/video package with lots of zoom and excellent fairly fast lens or traveler looking for all in one camera and not interested in carrying extra lenses this is a great camera.

I picked this camera because if I chose the DSLR, I knew I would have to spend at least $1500-2000 to get the same zoom range lenses and accessories I could get with the FZ150 for $450 plus accessories of about $100-> I also bought a wireless remote, extra battery, small case logic carrying case, 32GB Class 10 SD Chip, and the Sony travel tripod- all of which are perfect.
Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ150 | Rated 100% by by JDTAMPA--JD (Jul, 2012)
Given it's intended use, I went with the FZ150 for the four following reasons...it has a hot shoe for mics & external flashes, much better video performance, a threaded lens for filters & special lens attachments like a telephoto lens or polarizing filter.
Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ150 | Rated 80% by by Grateful-Fred
THE FZ150 is a solid and capable superzoom camera that boasts impressive image quality considering its 24X optical zoom range.

FZ150 has much better motor noise, and much better auto-focus (speed and accuracy), and better picture quality (dark noise, maintain edges, depth, and dark level).

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ150's maximum shutter speed is 60 seconds in Manual shooting mode and the Starry Sky Mode scene mode, which is great news if you're seriously interested in night photography.

The FZ150's default JPEG image quality is perfectly good, but, you can draw a lot more detail out of its raw files if you're prepared to put a little time into post-capture adjustment.

The 1/2.33 inch, 12.1 megapixel MOS sensor used in the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ150 produces noise-free images at ISO 100-400, with limited noise and colour desaturation starting to appear at ISO 800.

Contrast, sharpness, saturation and noise reduction adjustments, raw, face recognition, and the ability to tag and upload images to Facebook and YouTube by simply connecting the camera to the computer are only a few other FZ150 highlights.
Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ150 | Rated 76% by by DPReview (Apr, 2012)
Exposures can be a bit tricky, though - the FZ150 has a tendency to blow out highlights but exposure compensation is on hand if you want to dial things back a little (you can also get better highlight dynamic range in raw mode).
